Anne and Jesse met in Madison, Wisconsin, in the summer of 2021.

After graduating from Saint Mary’s in Winona, Minnesota in 2019, Jesse moved back home to Minneapolis to start a job. In May of 2020, Jesse’s employer decided it was the perfect time for him to move to a new city with no friends. So Jesse packed up for Madison.

A year later, Anne graduated from Northwestern University and moved to Madison to start a job at Sub-Zero Wolf. A Mississippi native, Anne was baffled when everyone at Sub-Zero asked where she was going to “Fish Fry” her first Friday as a Wisconsinite.

Deciding that a midwestern “Fish Fry” might not be the best place to meet someone, Anne downloaded a dating app. Jesse was her first date in July of 2021.

On their first date, Anne bought two concerts tickets. She told Jesse if he was still around in October, he could join her.

Many shows later, Anne and Jesse can now confidently plan concerts for the rest of their lives. Jesse is most definitely still around, and Anne keeps buying the tickets.

In true Southern girl meets Northern boy fashion, Anne has bought her first pair of ice skates, and Jesse is building his collection of Southern fiction.

Anne and Jesse love the community they have built in Madison where they’re surrounded by music, cheese curds, good beer, and better friends. Jesse graduated from the University of Wisconsin with his MBA in September, earning them true Badger status.
